Goretti Gael (Hagerstown, MD) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Loyola Blakefield Dons (Towson, MD), 72-52 in a league bout.

With the win, Goretti upgrades its record to 19-2 on the season. The Gael travel to Bullis (Potomac, MD) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 21. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 17-1. Bullis won 65-44 in their recent league bout against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes (Alexandria, VA)

Next up, the Dons play the John Carroll Patriots (Bel Air, MD) in a MIAA A - Black bout, on Friday, January 20. Loyola Blakefield will attempt to upgrade on its 6-5 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 6-10 record after their 65-45 league win over Calvert Hall (Baltimore, MD).
