In Wednesday's non-league outing, the Grundy Golden Wave (Grundy, VA) basketball squad felled the visiting J.I. Burton Black Raiders (Norton, VA), by a margin of 60-44.
The Golden Wave (7-6) will now prepare for their outing against Honaker (Honaker, VA). The Tigers go into the Black Diamond outing with a 7-6 record. In their last outing, Honaker thwarted Hurley (Hurley, VA), 70-40, in a league outing.
The Black Raiders now own a 5-4 record. They play next when they travel to Castlewood for a Cumberland outing on Friday, January 20. J.I. Burton will clash with a Blue Devils squad coming off a 72-40 non-league loss to Chilhowie (Chilhowie, VA). The Blue Devils record now stands at 0-16.
