The Wilson Memorial Green Hornets basketball team scored 78 points and held the host Turner Ashby Knights to 62 in the Green Hornets non-league triumph on Wednesday.
The Green Hornets now sport a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Waynesboro for a Shenandoah contest on Friday, January 20. Wilson Memorial will battle a Little Giants team coming off a 44-37 league loss to Riverheads (Staunton, VA). The Little Giants record now stands at 3-11.
The Knights (3-12) will now prepare for their contest against Spotswood (Penn Laird, VA). The Trailblazers enter the Valley contest with a 12-2 record. In their last contest, Spotswood ran past Rockbridge County (Lexington, VA), 70-50, in a league contest.
