Gainesville Hurricanes (Gainesville, FL) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Newberry Panthers (Newberry, FL), 69-42 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Gainesville upgrades its record to 8-3 on the campaign. The Hurricanes travel to Forest (Ocala, FL) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 1-5. Forest lost 52-48 in their recent non-league bout against West Port (Ocala, FL)

Next up, the Panthers play the West Port Wolf Pack (Ocala, FL) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 26. Newberry will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record.
