La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM), 2-0 in a non-league bout.

With the win, La Cueva upgrades its record to 8-2 on the season. The Bears host Piedra Vista (Farmington, NM) to clash with the Panthers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 20. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 9-4. Piedra Vista lost 45-33 in their recent non-league bout against Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM)

Next up, the Mustangs clash with the Farmington Scorpions (Farmington, NM) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 21. West Mesa will attempt to upgrade on its 10-1 season record. The Scorpions go into the bout with a 14-0 record after their 53-30 non-league win over Sandia (Albuquerque, NM).
