Pacific Ridge Firebird (Carlsbad, CA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Maranatha Christian Eagles (San Diego, CA), 41-31 in a league bout.

With the win, Pacific Ridge upgrades its record to 8-8 on the season. The Firebird travel to Francis Parker (San Diego, CA) to play the Lancers in a Coastal bout on Friday, January 20. The Lancers go into the bout with a record of 11-5. Francis Parker won 42-41 in their recent non-league bout against San Leandro (San Leandro, CA)

Next up, the Eagles play the Montgomery Aztecs (San Diego, CA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 21. Maranatha Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 9-12 season record. The Aztecs go into the bout with a 12-6 record after their 58-45 league win over San Ysidro (San Diego, CA).
