Maryland High School Basketball - Mountain Ridge nipped by Southern

In Wednesday's league match, the visiting Southern Rams basketball team scored a tight 36-30 triumph over the Mountain Ridge Miners.

In their next game, the Rams face the Elkins Tigers (Elkins, WV) in a non-league match, on Saturday, January 21. Southern will attempt to move on its 4-5 season record. The Tigers enter the match with a 7-6 record after their 47-42 league loss to East Fairmont (Fairmont, WV).

With the defeat, Mountain Ridge moves to 10-2 on the year. The Miners travel to Allegany (Cumberland, MD) to face the Campers in a Appalachian Mountain match on Monday, January 23. The Campers enter the match with a record of 2-3.
