The St.Ignace Saints basketball team scored 72 points and held the visiting Newberry Indians to 26 in the Saints league triumph on Wednesday.

The Saints now sport a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Menominee for a non-league contest on Friday, January 20. St.Ignace will battle a Maroons team coming off a 62-46 league loss to Escanaba (Escanaba, MI). The Maroons record now stands at 3-8.

The Indians (0-8) will now prepare for their contest against Engadine (Engadine, MI). The Eagles enter the Eastern Upper Peninsula contest with a 7-4 record. In their last contest, Engadine triumphed over Mid Peninsula (Rock, MI), 56-46, in a non-league contest.
