Virginia High School Basketball - Fort Defiance can't hold off Monticello

The Monticello Mustangs basketball team scored 33 points and held the visiting Fort Defiance Indians to 27 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Mustangs now sport a 2-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Western Albemarle for a non-league contest on Friday, January 20. Monticello will battle a Warriors team coming off a 41-37 non-league win over Fluvanna County (Palmyra, VA). The Warriors record now stands at 6-3.

The Indians (3-7) will now prepare for their contest against Stuarts Draft (Stuarts Draft, VA). The Cougars enter the non-league contest with a 10-3 record. In their last contest, Stuarts Draft nudged Buffalo Gap (Swoope, VA), 41-12, in a non-league contest.
