Fans at Wednesday's league game between the Shepaug/Litchfield/Nonnewaug/Thomaston Spartans (Washington, CT) and the host Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT), observed Shepaug/Litchfield/Nonnewaug/Thomaston's ice hockey squad edge Newtown by a score of 2-1.

The Spartans (5-5) will now prepare for their match against Joel Barlow (Redding, CT). The Falcons enter the Southern Connecticut - DIII match with a 4-5 record. In their last match, Joel Barlow was nipped by John Jay (Hopewell Junction, NY), 4-2, in a non-league match.
