The Detroit Lakes Lakers basketball team scored 81 points and restricted the host Apollo Eagles to 47 in the Lakers league victory on Thursday.
The Lakers now sport a 12-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Alexandria for a AAA Section 8 contest on Tuesday, January 23. Detroit Lakes will battle a Cardinals team coming off a 91-51 non-league win over Sartell-St. Stephen (Sartell, MN). The Cardinals record now stands at 10-4.
The Eagles (3-11) will now prepare for their contest against Sauk Rapids-Rice (Sauk Rapids, MN). The Storm come into the AAAA Section 8 contest with a 9-4 record. In their last contest, Sauk Rapids-Rice was routed by Moorhead (Moorhead, MN), 105-103, in a league contest.
