Benton Bobcats (Van Horne, IA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings (Vinton, IA), 58-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Benton upgrades its record to 5-6 on the season. The Bobcats travel to South Tama County (Tama, IA) to clash with the Trojans in a WAMAC - West bout on Friday, January 19. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 3-7. South Tama County lost 53-48 in their recent league bout against Clear Creek-Amana (Tiffin, IA)

Next up, the Vikings clash with the Grinnell Tigers (Grinnell, IA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 19. Vinton-Shellsburg will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 9-3 record after their 50-49 non-league loss to Marion (Marion, IA).
