Montevallo Bulldogs (Montevallo, AL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Bibb County Choctaws (Centreville, AL), 50-45 in a league bout.

With the victory, Montevallo upgrades its record to 13-5 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to West Blocton (West Blocton, AL) to play the Tigers in a 4A Area 6 bout on Saturday, January 20. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 10-7.

Next up, the Choctaws play the Holt Ironmen (Holt, AL) in a 4A Area 6 bout, on Friday, January 19. Bibb County will attempt to upgrade on its 9-5 season record.
