North Star Academy (Newark, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Bloomfield Bengals (Bloomfield, NJ), 48-46 in a league bout.

With the win, North Star Academy upgrades its record to 4-8 on the season. The travel to Passaic (Passaic, NJ) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 20. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 7-7. Passaic lost 59-41 in their recent non-league bout against Ridgewood (Ridgewood, NJ)

Next up, the Bengals play the Clifton Mustangs (Clifton, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 20. Bloomfield will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 5-8 record after their 65-58 league win over Passaic County Tech (Wayne, NJ).
