New Fairfield Rebels (New Fairfield, CT) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Brookfield Bobcats (Brookfield, CT), 54-39 in a league bout.

With the win, New Fairfield upgrades its record to 6-3 on the season. The Rebels host Valley Regional (Deep River, CT) to play the Warriors in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 20. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 2-7.

Next up, the Bobcats play the Masuk Panthers (Monroe, CT) in a Southwest bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Brookfield will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 5-6 record after their 63-39 league loss to Kolbe-Cathedral (Bridgeport, CT).
