The Starmont Stars basketball team scored 42 points and held the host Clayton-Ridge Eagles to 29 in the Stars non-league win on Thursday.

With the win, Starmont upgrades its record to 2-9 on the season. The Stars travel to Maquoketa Valley (Delhi, IA) to play the Wildcats in a Tri-Rivers bout on Friday, January 19. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 10-3. Maquoketa Valley won 57-21 in their recent league bout against Midland (Wyoming, IA)

Next up, the Eagles play the Kee Kee Hawks (Lansing, IA) in a Upper Iowa bout, on Friday, January 19. Clayton-Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 4-11 season record. The Kee Hawks go into the bout with a 13-1 record after their 57-54 league loss to MFL MarMac (Monona, IA).
