La Salle Academy Rams (Providence, RI) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Cumberland Clippers (Cumberland, RI), 52-44 in a league bout.

With the win, La Salle Academy upgrades its record to 8-3 on the season. The Rams host Bishop Hendricken (Warwick, RI) to play the Hawks in a Division 1 bout on Monday, January 22. The Hawks go into the bout with a record of 7-3. Bishop Hendricken won 75-70 in their recent league bout against East Providence (East Providence, RI)

Next up, the Clippers play the Woonsocket Villa Novans (Woonsocket, RI) in a Division 1 bout, on Saturday, January 20. Cumberland will attempt to upgrade on its 5-6 season record. The Villa Novans go into the bout with a 3-8 record after their 55-50 league loss to Barrington (Barrington, RI).
