Houlton Shiretowners (Houlton, ME) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Presque Isle Wildcats (Presque Isle, ME), 43-41 in a league bout.

With the victory, Houlton upgrades its record to 3-10 on the campaign. The Shiretowners host Foxcroft Academy (Dover-Foxcroft, ME) to play the Ponies in a B North bout on Saturday, January 20. The Ponies come into the bout with a record of 6-6. Foxcroft Academy lost 71-53 in their recent league bout against Bucksport (Bucksport, ME)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Orono Riots (Orono, ME) in a B North bout, on Saturday, January 20. Presque Isle will attempt to upgrade on its 3-8 season record. The Riots come into the bout with a 9-3 record after their 77-45 league win over Houlton (Houlton, ME).
