The Iron Mountain Mountaineers basketball team scored 72 points and held the visiting Manistique Emeralds to 36 in the Mountaineers league triumph on Thursday.

The Mountaineers now sport a 11-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Negaunee for a Mid-Peninsula contest on Tuesday, January 23. Iron Mountain will meet a Miners team coming off a 64-45 league loss to Westwood (Ishpeming, MI). The Miners record now stands at 9-5.

The Emeralds (4-7) will now prepare for their contest against Pickford (Pickford, MI). The Panthers enter the non-league contest with a 9-1 record.
