St. Augustine Purple Knights (New Orleans, LA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Jesuit Blue Jays (New Orleans, LA), 47-46 in a league bout.

With the victory, St. Augustine upgrades its record to 17-6 on the campaign. The Purple Knights host Holy Cross (New Orleans, LA) to play the Tigers in a 5A District 9 bout on Friday, January 19. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 13-9.

Next up, the Blue Jays play the St. Mary Tigers (Natchitoches, LA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 20. Jesuit will attempt to upgrade on its 20-5 season record.
