Wilton Beavers (Wilton, IA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Tipton Tigers (Tipton, IA), 51-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Wilton upgrades its record to 7-4 on the campaign. The Beavers host Cascade (Cascade, IA) to play the Cougars in a River Valley bout on Saturday, January 20. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 7-3. Cascade won 72-55 in their recent league bout against Northeast (Goose Lake, IA)

Next up, the Tigers play the Beckman Trailblazers (Dyersville, IA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 20. Tipton will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record. The Trailblazers come into the bout with a 4-9 record after their 68-40 non-league loss to Northeast (Goose Lake, IA).
