Artesia Bulldogs (Artesia, NM) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Hobbs Eagles (Hobbs, NM), 68-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Artesia upgrades its record to 7-6 on the season. The Bulldogs host Lovington (Lovington, NM) to play the Wildcats in a bout on Saturday, January 20. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 2-0. Lovington won 69-53 in their recent non-league bout against Portales (Portales, NM)

Next up, the Eagles play the Los Lunas Tigers (Los Lunas, NM) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 19. Hobbs will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 7-5 record after their 38-34 non-league loss to Volcano Vista (Albuquerque, NM).
