Hayward Hurricanes (Hayward, WI) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Ashland Oredockers (Ashland, WI), 58-23 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hayward upgrades its record to 11-6 on the campaign. The Hurricanes host Northwestern (Maple, WI) to play the Tigers in a Heart O'North bout on Saturday, January 20. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 4-9. Northwestern lost 70-56 in their recent league bout against St. Croix Falls (St. Croix Falls, WI)

Next up, the Oredockers play the Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Bulldogs (Chetek, WI) in a Heart O'North bout, on Saturday, January 20. Ashland will attempt to upgrade on its 2-11 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 7-10 record after their 73-40 league loss to Cameron (Cameron, WI).
