Deweyville Pirates (Deweyville, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Sabine Pass Sharks (Sabine Pass, TX), 62-15 in a league bout.

With the win, Deweyville upgrades its record to 10-14 on the season. The Pirates travel to West Hardin (Saratoga, TX) to clash with the Oilers in a 2A Region IV District 25 bout on Friday, January 19. The Oilers go into the bout with a record of 18-3. West Hardin won 64-51 in their recent league bout against Big Sandy (Dallardsville, TX)

Next up, the Sharks clash with the Evadale Rebels (Evadale, TX) in a 2A Region IV District 25 bout, on Friday, January 19. Sabine Pass will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Rebels go into the bout with a 17-10 record after their 67-35 league win over Hull-Daisetta (Daisetta, TX).
