Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the False River Gators (New Roads, LA) and the visiting Louisiana School for the Deaf War Eagles (Baton Rouge, LA), saw False River's basketball squad hold off Louisiana School for the Deaf by a tally of 28-22.

With the victory, False River improves its record to 1-18 on the campaign. The Gators travel to Sacred Heart (Ville Platte, LA) to confront the Trojans in a 1A District 6 challenge on Friday, January 19. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 20-6. Sacred Heart won 65-40 in their recent non-league challenge against St. Joseph's - Plaucheville (Plaucheville, LA)

Next up, the War Eagles confront the Kentucky School for the Deaf Colonels (Danville, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 25. Louisiana School for the Deaf will attempt to improve on its 6-11 season record.
