Merit Preparatory Academy Knights (Springville, UT) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Freedom Prep Academy Eagles (Provo, UT), 56-14 in a league bout.

With the win, Merit Preparatory Academy upgrades its record to 6-11 on the season. The Knights travel to Rockwell (Eagle Mountain, UT) to play the Marshals in a 2A Region 16 bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Marshals go into the bout with a record of 11-6. Rockwell lost 41-39 in their recent non-league bout against Milford (Milford, UT)

Next up, the Eagles play the Pinnacle Panthers (Price, UT) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 19. Freedom Prep Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 0-12 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 7-8 record after their 56-28 league loss to Monument Valley (Monument Valley, UT).
