Texas High School Basketball - Guthrie can't hold off Motley County

The Motley County Matadors basketball team scored 21 points and held the visiting Guthrie Jaguars to 19 in the Matadors league triumph on Thursday.
The Matadors now sport a 5-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Jayton for a 1A Region I District 5 contest on Tuesday, January 23. Motley County will battle a Jaybirds team coming off a 58-25 league win over Paducah (Paducah, TX). The Jaybirds record now stands at 18-10.
The Jaguars (13-13) will now prepare for their contest against Patton Springs (Afton, TX). The Rangers enter the 1A Region I District 5 contest with a 6-8 record. In their last contest, Patton Springs was nudged by Spur (Spur, TX), 50-30, in a league contest.
