Minnesota High School Basketball - Winona overwhelmed by Mayo

The Mayo Spartans basketball team scored 78 points and restricted the visiting Winona Winhawks to 51 in the Spartans non-league victory on Thursday.
The Spartans now sport a 12-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lakeville North for a AAAA Section 1 contest on Saturday, January 20. Mayo will battle a Panthers team coming off a 71-54 non-league win over Eastview (Apple Valley, MN). The Panthers record now stands at 10-4.
The Winhawks (11-6) will now prepare for their contest against Northfield (Northfield, MN). The Raiders come into the AAA Section 1 contest with a 4-10 record. In their last contest, Northfield was routed by Owatonna (Owatonna, MN), 73-54, in a non-league contest.
