The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks basketball team scored 49 points and held the visiting West Liberty Comets to 42 in the Golden Hawks league triumph on Thursday.

The Golden Hawks now sport a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to West Branch for a River Valley - South contest on Friday, January 19. Mid-Prairie will meet a Bears team coming off a 33-28 non-league win over Lisbon (Lisbon, IA). The Bears record now stands at 4-10.

The Comets (2-9) will now prepare for their contest against West Branch (West Branch, IA). The Bears enter the River Valley - South contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, West Branch was nudged by Mid-Prairie (Wellman, IA), 62-53, in a league contest.
