Fremont Firebirds (Sunnyvale, CA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Homestead Mustangs (Cupertino, CA), 58-41 in a league bout.

With the win, Fremont upgrades its record to 3-6 on the season. The Firebirds host Kathleen MacDonald (San Jose, CA) to play the Condor in a bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Condor go into the bout with a record of 10-6. Kathleen MacDonald won 68-64 in their recent league bout against Santa Clara (Santa Clara, CA)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Monta Vista Matadors (Cupertino, CA) in a bout, on Saturday, January 20. Homestead will attempt to upgrade on its 11-5 season record. The Matadors go into the bout with a 12-3 record after their 66-57 league win over Saratoga (Saratoga, CA).
