The Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) basketball felled the visiting Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC), 52-41 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Cougars (6-8) will now prepare for their test against Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Wildcats go into the non-league test with a 0-8 record. In their last test, Draughn was beaten by Madison (Marshall, NC), 45-35, in a non-league test.

The Patriots now own a 2-9 record. They play next when they travel to Mitchell for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 23. Madison will encounter a Mountaineers squad coming off a 55-34 non-league win over Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Mountaineers record now stands at 3-1.
