In Saturday's non-league test, the East Columbus Gators (Lake Waccamaw, NC) basketball squad knocked off the host Red Springs Red Devils (Red Springs, NC), by a score of 38-30.

Next, the Gators encounter the West Columbus Vikings (Cerro Gordo, NC) in a 1A/2A Waccamaw test, on Tuesday, January 21. East Columbus will attempt to improve on its 7-8 season record. The Vikings come into the test with a 3-11 record after their 64-41 league loss to Pender (Burgaw, NC).

The Red Devils (1-14) will now prepare for their test against Midway (Dunn, NC). The Raiders come into the 2A Southeastern test with a 10-3 record.
