The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Russell Red Devils (Russell, KY) and the visiting West Carter Comets (Olive Hill, KY), observed Russell's basketball team overwhelm West Carter by a margin of 60-37.

The Red Devils (8-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Blazer (Ashland, KY). The Tomcats come into the non-league challenge with a 12-5 record. In their last challenge, Blazer trounced Bardstown (Bardstown, KY), 77-58, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Comets battle the Elliott County Lions (Sandy Hook, KY) in a District 62 challenge, on Monday, January 20. West Carter will attempt to better on its 3-9 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 7-2 record after their 58-50 non-league win over Lewis County (Vanceburg, KY).
