The Xavier Knights basketball squad (New York, NY), was nudged 52-48 in Saturday's league battle with the host St. Joseph-by-the-Sea Vikings (Staten Island, NY)
With the victory, St. Joseph-by-the-Sea advances its record to 10-5 on the year. The Vikings host Iona Prep (New Rochelle, NY) to meet the Gaels in a non-league battle on Saturday, January 25. The Gaels come into the test with a record of 8-7.
The Knights (3-4) will now prepare for their test against Moore Catholic (Staten Island, NY). The Mavericks come into the non-league test with a 3-5 record. In their last test, Moore Catholic was nipped by Fordham Prep (Bronx, NY), 63-54, in a league test.
