In Saturday's league test, the Elgin Comets (Marion, OH) basketball squad got by the host Ridgedale Rockets (Morral, OH), by a score of 44-43.

Next, the Comets clash with the Highland Fighting Scots (Marengo, OH) in a non-league test, on Tuesday, January 21. Elgin will attempt to improve on its 11-4 season record. The Fighting Scots come into the test with a 4-10 record after their 66-31 league loss to Shelby (Shelby, OH).
