The Monsignor Scanlan Crusaders basketball team scored 71 points and limited the host St. Joseph-by-the-Sea Vikings to 48 in the Crusaders league triumph on Saturday.

The Crusaders now have a 5-4 record. They play next when they host Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy for a non-league game on Monday, January 20. Monsignor Scanlan will confront a Gryphons team coming off a 72-46 non-league loss to Xaverian (Brooklyn, NY). The Gryphons record now stands at 8-4.

With the loss, St. Joseph-by-the-Sea falls to 7-5 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Catholic Central (Troy, NY) to confront the Crusaders in a non-league game on Sunday, January 19. The Crusaders go into the game with a record of 10-1. Catholic Central won 58-41 in their recent non-league game against New Dorp (Staten Island, NY)
