In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Pine Grove Panthers basketball team scored a big 70-25 win over the West Union Eagles.
The Panthers (11-9) will now prepare for their contest against Jumpertown (Booneville, MS). The Cardinals come into the 1A Region 2 contest with a 11-10 record. In their last contest, Jumpertown was routed by Byers (Holly Springs, MS), 64-54, in a league test.
The Eagles (6-17) will now prepare for their test against Smithville (Smithville, MS). The Seminoles come into the 1A Region 4 test with a 8-9 record. In their last test, Smithville was routed by Okolona (Okolona, MS), 61-28, in a league test.
