In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] Wolverines ice hockey team scored a close 8-4 victory over the Duluth East Greyhounds.

The Wolverines (13-3) will now prepare for their contest against Grand Rapids (Grand Rapids, MN). The Thunderhawks go into the Iron Range contest with a 8-6 record.

In their next game, the Greyhounds play the Rogers Royals (Rogers, MN) in a non-league contest, on Monday, January 20. Duluth East will attempt to better on its 2-15 season record. The Royals go into the contest with a 10-1 record after their 9-1 non-league win over Osseo (Osseo, MN).
