The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Pisgah Bears (Canton, NC) and the host Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC), observed Pisgah's basketball team overcome Mountain Heritage by a score of 50-35.

The Bears (14-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Smoky Mountain (Sylva, NC). The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 6-7 record. In their last challenge, Smoky Mountain defeated East Henderson (East Flat Rock, NC), 46-39, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Cougars battle the Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 22. Mountain Heritage will attempt to improve on its 3-8 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 4-5 record after their 60-48 non-league loss to Mitchell (Bakersville, NC).
