Aurora East Tomcats (Aurora, IL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Elgin Maroons (Elgin, IL), 71-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, Aurora East upgrades its record to 9-7 on the campaign. The Tomcats host Glenbard South (Glen Ellyn, IL) to play the Raiders in a Upstate Eight bout on Friday, January 27. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 11-8.

Next up, the Maroons play the Kaneland Knights (Maple Park, IL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 20. Elgin will attempt to upgrade on its 9-11 season record. The Knights come into the bout with a 18-4 record after their 86-64 league win over Rochelle (Rochelle, IL).
