New Jersey High School Basketball - Payne Tech thwarts Caldwell

The Payne Tech Lions (Newark, NJ) basketball knocked off the visiting Caldwell Chiefs (West Caldwell, NJ), 69-51 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Lions (7-6) will now prepare for their test against Plainfield (Plainfield, NJ). The Cardinals go into the non-league test with a 2-11 record. In their last test, Plainfield went down by Union (Union, NJ), 50-47, in a non-league test.
The Chiefs now own a 13-1 record. They play next when they travel to Irvington for a non-league test on Saturday, January 21. Caldwell will encounter a Blue Knights squad coming off a 59-43 non-league win over Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NJ). The Blue Knights record now stands at 13-4.
