Cordova Blue Devils (Cordova, AL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Oakman Wildcats (Oakman, AL), 53-44 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Cordova upgrades its record to 15-5 on the campaign. The Blue Devils travel to Carbon Hill (Carbon Hill, AL) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 21. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 18-5. Carbon Hill won 67-62 in their recent non-league bout against Dora (Dora, AL)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Winfield Pirates (Winfield, AL) in a 3A Area 10 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Oakman will attempt to upgrade on its 11-9 season record. The Pirates come into the bout with a 11-11 record after their 77-66 league loss to Carbon Hill (Carbon Hill, AL).
