Declo Hornets (Declo, ID) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Soda Springs Cardinals (Soda Springs, ID), 46-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Declo upgrades its record to 8-6 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Sun Valley Community (Sun Valley, ID) to play the Cutthroats in a 2A Canyon bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Cutthroats come into the bout with a record of 3-7. Sun Valley Community lost 59-32 in their recent league bout against Wendell (Wendell, ID)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Bear Lake Bears (Montpelier, ID) in a 2A South East Idaho bout, on Friday, January 20. Soda Springs will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Bears come into the bout with a 12-2 record after their 66-42 league win over West Side (Dayton, ID).
