Donovan Catholic Griffins (Toms River, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Shore Regional Blue Devils (West Long Branch, NJ), 53-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Donovan Catholic upgrades its record to 3-5 on the season. The Griffins host Lakewood (Lakewood, NJ) to play the Piners in a Shore C - South bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Piners go into the bout with a record of 0-8. Lakewood lost 66-32 in their recent non-league bout against Monmouth Regional (Tinton Falls, NJ)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Raritan Rockets (Hazlet, NJ) in a Shore A - Central bout, on Saturday, January 21. Shore Regional will attempt to upgrade on its 6-4 season record. The Rockets go into the bout with a 13-0 record after their 45-39 league win over Matawan Regional (Aberdeen, NJ).
