Ocean Township Spartans (Oakhurst, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Liberty Lions (Jackson, NJ), 45-34 in a league bout.

With the win, Ocean Township upgrades its record to 9-4 on the season. The Spartans travel to Toms River East (Toms River, NJ) to clash with the Raiders in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 21. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 3-10. Toms River East lost 56-46 in their recent league bout against Brick Memorial (Brick, NJ)

Next up, the Lions clash with the Shore Regional Blue Devils (West Long Branch, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Liberty will attempt to upgrade on its 0-9 season record. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a 6-5 record after their 34-31 league loss to Raritan (Hazlet, NJ).
