In Thursday's league outing, the Pittston Patriots (Pittston, PA) basketball squad beat the visiting Wyoming Valley West Spartans (Plymouth, PA), by a margin of 44-25.

The Patriots (8-4) will now prepare for their outing against Berwick (Berwick, PA). The Bulldogs go into the Wyoming Valley 1 outing with a 4-10 record. In their last outing, Berwick was topped by Tunkhannock (Tunkhannock, PA), 77-62, in a league outing.

The Spartans now own a 2-12 record. They play next when they travel to Crestwood for a Wyoming Valley 1 outing on Saturday, January 21. Wyoming Valley West will clash with a Comets squad coming off a 50-42 league win over Wilkes-Barre (Wilkes-Barre, PA). The Comets record now stands at 9-5.
