Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Somerville Pioneers (Somerville, NJ) and the visiting Voorhees Vikings (Glen Gardner, NJ), saw Somerville's basketball squad hold off Voorhees by a count of 45-44.

With the victory, Somerville upgrades its record to 5-6 on the campaign. The Pioneers host The Pingry School (Martinsville, NJ) to play the Big Blue in a Skyland - Valley challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Big Blue come into the challenge with a record of 8-5. The Pingry School lost 46-32 in their recent non-league challenge against Hillsborough (Hillsborough, NJ)

Next up, the Vikings play the South Hunterdon Eagles (Lambertville, NJ) in a Skyland - Valley challenge, on Friday, January 20. Voorhees will attempt to upgrade on its 3-8 season record.
