West Essex Knights (North Caldwell, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Verona Hillbillies (Verona, NJ), 74-53 in a non-league bout.

With the win, West Essex upgrades its record to 12-2 on the season. The Knights travel to Newark Tech (Newark, NJ) to clash with the Terries in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Terries go into the bout with a record of 5-2. Newark Tech won 65-44 in their recent non-league bout against Belleville (Belleville, NJ)

Next up, the Hillbillies clash with the Kearny Kardinals (Kearny, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 21. Verona will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Kardinals go into the bout with a 8-5 record after their 49-45 non-league win over Beloved Community Charter (Jersey City, NJ).
