The St. Pius X Sartans (Albuquerque, NM) basketball felled the host Belen Eagles (Belen, NM), 46-32 in Thursday's league test.
The Sartans (11-5) will now prepare for their test against Grants (Grants, NM). The Pirates go into the 4A District 5 test with a 8-10 record. In their last test, Grants went down by Valencia (Los Lunas, NM), 61-30, in a league test.
The Eagles now own a 7-10 record. They play next when they travel to Highland for a 4A District 5 test on Friday, January 20. Belen will encounter a Hornets squad coming off a 53-36 non-league win over Albuquerque Academy (Albuquerque, NM). The Hornets record now stands at 8-10.
