The Chesapeake Panthers (Chesapeake, OH) basketball nipped the host Ironton Fighting Tigers (Ironton, OH), 39-36 in Thursday's league test.

The Panthers (12-5) will now prepare for their test against Tolsia (Fort Gay, WV). The Rebels go into the non-league test with a 6-4 record. In their last test, Tolsia got by Lincoln County (Hamlin, WV), 57-48, in a league test.

The Fighting Tigers now own a 1-13 record. They play next when they travel to South Point for a Ohio Valley test on Monday, January 23. Ironton will encounter a Pointers squad coming off a 60-44 non-league loss to Waverly (Waverly, OH). The Pointers record now stands at 4-8.
